概要
Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) such as Mihama Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1, Unit 2 and Genkai nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 finished their commercial operation on April 27th this year and have been preparing for their decommissioning. So far there have not experienced the decommissioning of PWR plant in Japan. On the other hand, more than ten PWR plants have completed their decommissioning and /or been under decommissioning in the USA & Europe and a lot of decommissioning experiences from their activities have been accumulated. In this paper, lessons learned from PWR decommissioning activities above described are reviewed and discussed for the successful PWR decommissioning planning in Japan.
