概要
Fatigue damages have been increasing in a large number of steel bridges in Japan. In terms of repair/retrofit to fatigue damages of steel bridges, this study proposes three innovative methods for the evaluation of fatigue strength of structural members in steel bridges and the repair/retrofit of fatigue damages in l-girder bridges and steel plate deck bridges. Firstly, the simple calculation method to evaluate fatigue strength of welded joints with defects and fatigue cracks, was proposed based on fracture mechanics, and verified to be valid through the results of FEM analyses. Secondly, the new reinforcing structure with the partially-enca sed composite l-girder was suggested to the steel l-girder, and it was proved that it possessed enough strength and deformation performance through the bending tests of specimens modeling on the 1-girder. Thirdly, the new structure of steel plate deck pavement with FRP grid was moved for repair/retrofit of fatigue damages in steel plate deck, it was verified that the pavement structure with FRP grid possessed the retrofitting effect enough in comparison with the conventional structure without FRP grid by results of the bending tests of specimens consisted of the steel plate deck and asphalt mixtures modeling on the steel plate deck pavement.
