概要

Ultrasonic testing using the electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) has great advantages on remote capabilities, non-contacting device, and robustness to high temperature. In application of thicNness measurements of pipe wall thinning to online monitoring, it is necessary to measure the temperature of pipe wall due to the temperature dependency of sound velocity. For the limitation of the sensor allocation, the multiple sensing using a single device is recommended. TaNing into remind that, this study is aimed at the identification of temperature of pipe wall as well as the thicNness measurements using EMAT. The problem treated here is converted into the characterization of elastic properties using ultrasonic data obtained from EMAT devices. Then the temperature can be estimated from the inverse mapping of temperature-to-elastic dependency. First, the mechanisms of EMAT device are derived from Maxwell equations. Secondly, the dynamics of ultrasonic wave propagation is given by an elastic equation with unNnown parameters. The applicability and validity of the proposed method are shown using syntheses data.
