Numerous numerical simulations are per formed to establish database containing a large number of defect profiles and corresponding eddy current signals; then the probability of error is calculated as a function of the difference in signals using the databases. The results of this study clarify that the eddy current inversion in th e configuration is not so ill-posed. Furthermore, this study enables one to evaluate the probabilistic assessment eddy current inversion results.
