概要

The ultrasonic testing (UT) has been carried out according to the JEAC 4207 in our country’s ISI. In this code, though the ultrasonic personnel are required to the education and training concerning the UT of ISI in the nuclear power plant, the detail contents of these items are not described. Therefore, the ultrasonic personnel are trained to learn and maintain high-level skills such as defect detection, classification of defect echoes and so on, using the own training program of the inspection companies. Thus, the importance of education and training for ultrasonic personnel is recognized. Then, authors were investigated the advantages of education and training for the ultrasonic examiners using the defect detection capability test in austenitic stainless steel piping welds specimen. From the analysis and evaluation of the results, the major improvement of the defect detection capabilities after education and training was shown. On the other hand, in order to keep the skills of the ultrasonic personnel, it is necessary to construct the education and training program with transparency, objectivity and fairness. The establishment of education and training program for the ultrasonic personnel has been investigated. This paper indicates the outline of study of the effectiveness of education and training for ultrasonic examiners in austenitic stainless steel piping welds, and the outline of the education and training program for ultrasonic personnel.
