概要

After the accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi (1F) Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), the Japanese Government referred to “Enhancement of instrumentation to identify the status of the reactors and PCVs”, in the report of Japanese government to the IAEA ministerial conference in June 2011. Moreover, the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency gave the provisions, “Ensuring reliability of instrumentation during accidents” and “Enhancement of surveillance capability of the status of the NPPs”, in March 2012. In response to these provisions, the research and development of a monitoring system for NPPs situations during a severe accident started in November 2012. The R&D has been carried out following five-year plan from fiscal 2012 to 2016, and is composed of the three objectives, i.e., i) Radiation-resistant monitoring camera; ii) Radiation-resistant in-water transmission system; and iii) Heat-resistant signal cable. In this paper, the progress situations of above mentioned three items by the end of FY2015 is introduced.
