概要

The Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) conducts research projects using material harvested from nuclear power plants. The research projects are to verify the conservatism of degradation predictions methods based on aged material due to accelerated degradation tests.  The purpose of "Study on Integrity Evaluation of Stainless Steel Components" in the research projects is to verify the conservatism of the thermal embrittlement evaluation of cast austenitic stainless steel (CASS) by the H3T (Hyperbolic Time Temperature Toughness) model for BWR plants. In FY2021, we selected a plant to harvest materials, developed the plans to transport the harvested materials to the testing facility and established material the test matrix. Also, we machined-out material blocks from primary loop recirculation (PLR) pump casings and completed the transportation of the blocks to the testing facility.
