高レベル放射性物質研究施設における耐放射線性直管型LED照明の開発
概要
In Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), an advanced fuel reprocessing for fast reactor fuel cycle are carried out in hot cells in the Chemical Processing Facility (CPF). Since hot cell is high radiation and nitric acid atmosphere, the mercury lamps with excellent radiation resistance have been used. The manufacture and import of mercury lamps will be banned in 2021; therefore, we started the development of alternative lighting. LED lamps are superior in lighting speed and power consumption compared to mercury lamps; however, it has not been proved to use in a high radiation and nitric acid atmosphere such as in hot cell. The LED lamps used in hot cell must have high radiation resistance, acid resistance and high light intensity. Therefore, the LED lamps, which has resistance to radiation, were developed by in this study; moreover, various experimental such as gamma-ray irradiation confirmed the applicability of the hot cell.
